Colorado Summer

The Yampa Valley and surrounding area are as beautiful in the summer as in the winter.  The Wooden Fence, Fog in the Valley and Coming Down US40 were all shot within a few miles of the Steamboat Springs base.  Away from the Yampa is some 20-30 miles to the west, away from the Rockies in the high plateau.  Fishcreek Falls is near the ski area.  The Wildflowers are up in Rabbit Ears Pass, at 10,000 feet.  The final three pictures were taken during one of the better hikes in the area, the 10-mile loop from a trailhead at 8,400 feet up to Gilpin Lake at 10,300 feet, over the Ridge at 10,700 feet, then past Gold Creek Lake and back to the trailhead.
