I have friends with a home near Portland, Maine, and the area is delightful to visit.  The Lighthouse is an icon for the area and striking at Dawn and at Dusk.  Sailboats abound.  Portland didn’t strike me as a beach resort (although beaches are available) — weathered and eroded rocks come right down to the shore.   And Ships Passing is just a bit of whimsy.
